In southeastern Iran, around the city of Kerman, the Afshar people live; connoisseurs value their rugs as some of the finest examples of nomadic Persian rugs. For anyone seeking a rug with an authentic, primal character that reflects the true value of nomadic traditional art, a rug from the Sirjan area is one of those rare exceptions that will satisfy even the most discerning collector of Persian rugs. <\/p>\n
Nomadic rugs are knotted rugs created along the never truly finished routes of Persian nomadic peoples, embodying an exceptional relationship with a tradition thousands of years old, virtuosity, and an unburdened sense of aesthetics. Even today, nomads shear, spin, dye, and wash the wool themselves in mountain rivers, carrying it with them along the endless mountain paths, from which they also draw inspiration, masterfully harmonizing it with tradition. Many of the rugs they make are undoubtedly valuable works of art. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
