A Persian Mood carpet featuring a characteristic repeating minimalist Herati design, with silk radiating from the floral motifs. A magnificent rug that reveals different color spectrums under varying lighting conditions.

Classic (masterpiece) hand-knotted carpets are dominated by motifs of arabesques, flowers, gardens, animals, hunting, and scenes from rich Persian mythology. They are crafted in master workshops in cities such as Isfahan, Tabriz, Nain, Qom, Mashhad, Kerman, Mood, and Kashan. These carpets carry the tradition of rug-making for Persian courts, which flourished in the 16th century during the reign of Shah Abbas, a great patron of the arts. Carpets from this era are now exhibited in museums in Tehran, Vienna, London, and New York. They are meticulously crafted according to pictorial designs created by renowned painters or carpet designers. The Mahi motif (a diamond surrounded by four palmettes) was developed in the city of Herat along the Silk Road as early as the 16th century, when it was a center of culture and art where the greatest masters of the time worked under royal patronage.
